This property, located in the center of historic Rockville, Maryland was originally built in 1929.
Typical of houses built in that era, the house consisted of small, disconnected rooms. The decision
was made to expand the overall square footage of the house and create an open plan on the first floor
of the residence offering panoramic views of the heavily wooded historic downtown area at the rear of
the property. The design details of the addition interpret the clapboard style of the original structure
in a contemporary style. Because of the slope of the property from the street to the rear yard, a finished
playroom offers access to the enclosed landscaped rear yard.
